GEMA & usage rights
How the music rights in eKlecia® are handled – so that you can use the app during the service with a clear conscience.
This English translation is provided for your convenience. Legally binding is solely the German original.
We take care of provision
For providing the organ recordings in the eKlecia® app, we have taken care of the legal side. As a parish or institution, this involves no additional effort for you – you can simply use the recordings.
Playback during the service
Playing the music before the congregation is – just as with live organ playing – the responsibility of the organiser. In practice, for parishes this is as a rule already covered by the existing blanket or framework agreements that the dioceses and regional churches have concluded with GEMA. Your parish then does not have to do anything additional.
Non-liturgical events
For public, non-liturgical events – such as a concert – you register the music with GEMA as usual.
Please note
The recordings are intended for use within your institution; copying or passing on the recordings themselves is not permitted.
Not sure whether a GEMA framework agreement exists for your institution? Many dioceses and regional churches have blanket agreements with GEMA. We recommend briefly clarifying this with your church administration – and we are happy to help you find the right point of contact.
